Is there a problem in extracting annotations from pdfs opened using MS edge?

I have been using MS edge as my default pdf viewer. But after I have started using Zotero, I am unable to extract the highlighted texts and added comments (that I do on edge) into Zotero notes. Is this a problem or is there any change in settings that can help me solve this? I am on Windows 11 platform with Zotero 6.0 with Zotfile 5.1 add on.

(I'm not familiar with saving changes to PDFs in Edge, though. But if you can save annotations back to the file, Zotero should be able to import them.)
