All citations being added to text as "1"

Hello, I am a newer user to Zotero. I have been using it for assistance with citation management through the google docs plug-in. It has been working well for me until today when I was trying to add a new citation. It keeps being added as citation number "1" in the text of the manuscript although it is being correctly added as #12 in the bibliography itself. I have tried adding other citations to the document that have been previously included and they are all being added as "1" as well. I have ensured I have the most up to date version of Zotero, have tried restarting Zotero and my computer without resolution. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Are you sure the bibliography is updating, or is that a preexisting bibliography entry? I'd guess that the citations are no longer active and you're just seeing a plain-text bibliography.

    You could also see citations that aren't updating I think? Try switching to a different style and back and see if that fixes the numbering
