noob proposal for iPad storage workflow - what could go wrong?
I'm a newbie, surely. So just wanted to run this by someone wiser before I move my whole workflow over.
I see a lot of people, myself included, want to use synced documents with external storage, but accessing these documents is not ipad zotero.app supported.
.. So why not just selectively flip a small % of files to zotero storage as needed? One can't read that much at so quickly anyway.
As needed, Tools->Convert Linked files to Stored files. -- Perhaps "batch converting" might be a pain. I hadn't thought of that. -- Now, set the default for newly added pdf's (for example via extension or drag/drop) to be stored copies. Think of it like an "actively reading list".
When you move on to the next project in life, zotfile->rename&move. Store long term references in a cloud service.
In a pinch, you can use some other ipad pdf reader that does see cloud services (there are MANY but my petfav is pdfreader).
That should make for not too much inconvenience not too often, right?
Any additional streamlining finesse that you would add?

adamsmithThat'd work, yes.

22csnyderooo do annotations get carried over though when you create links and store linked files ?
-
adamsmithI think they might -- there was a related fix -- but please test first
