Saving journal articles on iOS

I’m using the share button in safari on iPad to try and save articles and it keeps saying “an unknown error occurred. You can still save as a webpage item”. Anyone else having this issue? I want to be able to save articles on my iPad like I can on desktop, as an actual article with the pdf etc not just the webpage.

Hi, sorry I'm responding so late. it's happening on every page I try, here's an example of one I've tried though.

Elsevier has some over-zealous anti-bot defenses on ScienceDirect that make it much harder for Zotero to work with than other sites. We have a special method specifically for this purpose, but it may no longer be working. We're investigating.

Ok interesting, can't say that surprises me haha. I have tried with different articles that I don't think are Elsevier and I haven't had any work.

They're not (and this is only on ScienceDirect as far as we know). Those all work for me. What exactly is the problem you're experiencing?

Can you provide a Debug ID for whatever is failing?

OK, @michalrentka will need to take a look at this — there's a more general problem with saving for you.

I have the same problem (including on all the urls ellie posted). Is the problem specific to particular users, or should I wait/hope for a general app update?

@davehawkey can you provide a Debug ID as well? To see whether you have the same issue.

@elliebartlett @davehawkey there is a new beta build on Testflight. If you don't mind being on beta and want to check it out, it should fix your problems with translators. If not please let me know here with new Debug ID.
