Bibliography not updating

I can't find a recent thread about this, so I'm posting. I'm using the Zotero plugin for Google Docs (using Chrome). I went through and edited some references that needed fixing. However, the bibliography entries don't update when I refresh the document.

To demonstrate the problem, I added "TEST" to the title of one of my references, but the title doesn't update to show TEST, even after refreshing the document.

I have tried:
- Restarting my computer, browser, and Zotero
- Re-syncing Zotero
- Making sure I have the most up-to-date version of Zotero (6.0.4)
- Checking to ensure that references are updated in the cloud (they are)
- Using a different browser (Safari and Firefox)—issue persists
- Deleting the bibliography and re-adding it
- Switching the citation style, then switching it back

Any ideas about other things to try?

But things like adding a citation still work and the bib updates with that? This sounds like the citations aren't connected to Zotero items anymore. What happens when you add a citation with the updated title, making sure to select it from under "My Library" (or whichever group you're using, not from "Cited")?

Thanks for your reply, Adam! Yes, adding a new citation works.

I also just tried to add the new version of the citation I changed, and the old citation (with the old version of title, pre-update) shows up as an option, under "Cited", even though that version of the citation no longer exists in my Zotero library.

Hi there, thanks again for your help. I think, as you suggest, I had duplicate citations in multiple folders/group libraries, and I had done a cleanup, which led to these citations becoming unlinked. https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/citations_not_updating

Yup, sorry about that. Unfortunately, there's no alternative to re-inserting the affected citations.
