Citation losts function when copy to another doc file

Greeting! really appreciate this awesome app.
however
When I copy the paragraph with a citation to another doc file, all the citations are just text.
This means I can not add a biography under this.
what can I do?

This is in Word?

Copying between Word documents certainly works. Zotero uses standard Word fields, the same as something like an auto-updating date in Word, so if those are turning into plain text then you're doing something while copying to cause this, such as stripping formatting or pasting into a document that's saved in the wrong format.
