the exported markdown file from "add note" does not contain open-pdf link

Report ID: 510739867

First at all, thanks to all developers for the great software.

But I found a problem:
within the internal PDF viewer,I use "add note" to add an annotation, then I use "Add note from annotations" to extract annotations note from this PDF file, finally I right click the annotations note and choose "export note" to export markdown file.
unexpectedly, the MD file has "zotero://select" for the annotation, but not "zotero://open-pdf" link.
however, when I use “highlight text” or “Select Area" function in the internal PDF viewer, the exported MD file has both "zotero://select" and "zotero://open-pdf" link.
I think that any type of annotation, no matter how it is generated, is essentially the same. So, it is unreasonable that the "add note" function is different from the other two. In particular, in my opinion, this feature is more important than the other two, because this is the only way to add your own ideas on a PDF file.

It would be greatly appreciated if this problem could be resolved. thanks so much.
  • Hello,I use the most up-to-date version of Zotero (6.0.4), and this issue has not been resolved yet.
Appreciate if someone can help me. Thank you!
  • Note annotations, that are added to Zotero note items, are inserted as plain text and don't have any reference back to the note annotation. The same applies when exporting to Markdown. So, at the moment, this is by design.
