editing a web page

Before the last FF upgrade there was a button which allowed a web page to be edited..ie remove ads and extraneous text. Has this been option been removed? I'm using FF 3.5.3 and Zotero 2.0b7.4
I'd love to have the option to edit webpages before capture because my hard drive is filling with ads. :-/
  • There has never been any such functionality in Zotero.
  • maybe you used an add-on that's not compatible with FF 3.5?
  • Dan Stillman..there definitely was such a function. I've been using Zotero for about 2-3 years and used to use it all the time. It sat at the bottom of the FF screen near the Zotero symbol. It had a name but I can't remember what it was called (ie the name popped up on mouseover).

adamsmith...Do you mean that some other plug in could be interfering with Zotero? If so that would be difficult to assess except by removing the plug-ins one by one.
  • Dan Stillman..there definitely was such a function.
You're going to have to take my word for this. It was a different Firefox extension (like, say, Aardvark).
  • Well Dan..looks like you are right. My apologies. I always thought the DOM inspector (I remembered the name!) was part of Zotero. It was included with FF but removed. Thanks for clarification.
