Exporting Annotation Notes with a Single Link for Each Annotation

Exporting annotation notes in "Markdown format & Include Zotero Links" exports two links for every annotation: a 'zotero://select link' – appearing as, for example, "(Author, 2022, p.5)" – and a 'zotero://open-pdf ' link – appearing exactly as "(pdf)."

The open-pdf link is useful; clicking on it opens the pdf to the page on which the annotation was made. The zotero://select link merely highlights the Item within which lies the child pdf; it doesn't open to the page it references.

Is there a way to export only a single link per annotation in the 'zotero://select' format which also opens the pdf to the referenced page when it is clicked? This used to be the way annotation links were displayed, e.g., "(Author 2022:5)".

That's not currently configurable. We can consider making it possible to choose which to include.

But a zotero://select link just selects an item in the items list and has nothing to do with the PDF page, so I suspect it's the zotero://open-pdf that you want.
  • Yes, open-pdf. Thanks for the quick reply!

+1 for this. zotero://open-pdf is enough.
Btw, it will be even better if we could create such a link directly by selecting some text in PDFs and then press a hotkey.
