Cannot add new files to zotero in version 6.0

Hello there,

I am on an m1 macbook air. Zotero recently upgraded itself to version 6.0. I love the new interface and all the new features. However, when I try to add files to my library, I am unable to. I have tried dragging and dropping, left clicking and attaching files, and using the firefox web extension. Probably obvious, but adding files is an integral part of how I use Zotero. Any fixes would be greatly appreciated.

    P.S. I have quit and reopened the application, uninstalled and reinstalled. I am open to further fixes to try. I am also unable to create new notes.

    Can you provide a Debug ID for trying to add a file via the context menu?

    I have tried resetting permissions and disabling my AV. This did nothing. How do I completely remove Zotero? Maybe some config file is broken and a complete reinstall will fix my error.

    Can you go to Tools → Developer → Run JavaScript, run the following code, and tell us the result?

    The problem was user error. Specifically, I was trying to add to a shared library and i was not signed into sync. In future, an error message saying: "Cannot add to library, because you are not signed in to sync" would be helpful.

    Ah, OK — thanks. The current behavior obviously isn't intentional. It's just a regression with the logged-out case.

    That's interesting, because when I logged in, everything started working again.

    As I say, the bug is with the logged-out state.

    Okay! I just wanted to make sure the behavior was described accurately. I appreciate you keeping up with this. Zotero is an excellent tool and I'm so glad that I can keep growing my library again :)

    This was fixed in 6.0.2.
