Extract Annotations (highlights) from a MS Word document

Hi, I have managed to extract annotations (highlights) from a pdf document.

I have not managed to extract highlights from an MS Word Document, is it possible to extract from word?

    No, and I'm not sure that that means — "highlighting" a Word document isn't really a thing the way it is for PDFs.

    Word comments behave very similar to PDF annotations -- with Adobe Pro installed, they even convert to PDF annotations when saving, so they're a reasonable analogy.
    Zotero hasn't really done anything with Word files ever, so I doubt you'll do this (and I have no need for it), but on a technical level it'd likely be feasible. We built a (java, server-based) tool at work that converts Word comments to Hypothes.is web annotations.
