lag when annotate in word

Last week, I used Zotero to cite some paper in my thesis. Everything was fine but when my professor opened the revision mode, annotating some specific part(not everywhere),computer was too slow to use. He didn't install Zotero. Later I tried to annotate and I also find this situation. I had to delete all the field code and everything was normal.
I wonder if someone also meet with that situation and how to solve this problem？
