Authors with the same last name

APA 7 directs you to use the first initial of the author's name when there are multiple authors with the same last name. However, it is unclear whether using the first initial is required throughout the paper or only when multiple authors with the same last name are being cited in the same sentence. Can someone clarify for me?
  • Zotero implements this rule correctly. Initials are added thought out the paper when there are two different authors with the same last name cited in the same paper.
  • Thank you.
