Remove parentheses from footnote while keeping parentheses for in-line citation?

I'm using Chicago (author date), but when I have four or more citations they need to be in a footnote. I'd like to remove the parentheses that show when I insert a citation in the footnotes. Does anyone know how to do this?

Mixing styles like that is not possible.
As a workaround you could cite those items in footnotes manually and then add them to the bibliography before submitting your paper.
