Looking for migration suggestions
I am looking for an advice on how to get started with a new Zotero installation import a pre-existing pile of files.
So my resource is in a form of a single flat folder with ~2K items: research articles, reports, books in mainly PDF, DJVU and EPUB formats.
The absolute minimum I'd like Zotero to do is to index everything it can and present me with a flat list of records to work with. A great extra would be to get the records tagged using any library system (Library of Congress or whatever) to help get started with their organization.
Can Zotero accomplish this for me? Any pointers would be appreciated.

It might recognize some other PDFs, at least with basic metadata, and it will index all PDFs with readable text in them to allow full text search.
It won't do anything whatsoever -- except display the files in a list-- with epub and djvu files.
