Upgrade StorageBug Report? Deleting Annotations in PDF Editor with Separate Windows

I believe this worked until recently, and now no longer works. Seems to be a bug (unless it is by design):
One can no longer delete annotations (highlighting and notes) from a PDF document, if said document is opened in a separate window in Zotero. Deletion works find if the document is opened as a tab. Is it possible to bring back the functionality for separate windows?
(Using the latest beta here on latest MacOS with all updates).
