"Note Format" drop-down stuck on "Loading"

  • Can some one PLEASE help me. I just downloaded the latest beta Zotero version yesterday. I have imported my library from Mendeley. I am trying to export my notes as markdown files into Obsidian. I have read this entire thread multiple times but cannot get it to work, specifically the first comment and joycekwc - January 17, 2022's comment with the following directions:

    >1. In the Zotero library pane, select the note or notes you want to export.
    >2. Right-click and choose 'Export Notes ...'. By default, this will include keeping live >links to Zotero.
    >3. This will open your file dialog so you can save the files as markdown files wherever you choose.

If I open the Zotero preferences and click on the Export preferences, the dropdown box for "Note Format" just says "Loading," for the last two days. When I do any kind of copying or dragging, the only information copied is the citation information. When I try to export a note, the only option is "Zotero RDF."

    Am I doing something wrong?
Incidentally, I have 2118 items in my library and have had to pay for storage. Does that seem right?

    TIA!!!
  • Can you provide a Report ID after this happens?
  • Yep, same happening to me for the Beta version (6.0-beta.1+c6d03753f)
  • I have the same issue with the Note Format drop-down menu stuck indefinitely on "Loading..."

Here is my report ID: 1438723667

However, it says that no errors have been logged since Zotero started.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? I also need to be able to export to markdown for Obsidian.

    Thanks!
  • @gmf1111, @Portavion: Can you provide a Debug ID for Zotero startup through reproducing this, using the "Restart with Logging Enabled" option? Be sure to wait 10 seconds or so after startup to make sure everything is fully initialized.
  • Ok, just submitted the report: D1483899064
  • Here is mine @dstillman : D1365924988
  • We'll look into why this happened to you, but you can likely fix it by resetting translators from the Advanced → Files and Folders pane of the Zotero preferences.
  • "resetting translators from the Advanced → Files and Folders pane of the Zotero preferences." worked for me. Thanks.
  • That did the trick for me too! Many thanks.
