What's the full version number of Word that you are using? Did you try updating Word? Have you tried restarting your computer? You can try disabling security software if you're running anything proprietary. Does it work well in a new document? If not see Troubleshooting Errors in Word Processor Documents

It is Microsoft Word 2016. It appears to be up-to-date. It seems to have fixed itself with another close of Word and Zotero. I just hope it doesn't happen again. Thank you for the link as I can refer back to this if it happens again.
