Unable to edit styles

Zotero came with a limited number of styles shown on the Style Manager, beginning with "American Chemical Society" and ending with "Vancouver." From your repository I downloaded "Acupuncture in Medicine." This is now shown on the Style Manager and works properly with the manuscript. However, I am trying to rename and edit it, but it is not shown on the Zotero Style Editor. The only styles shown on the editor are the originals that came with the program. Yet even those I am unable to edit. I select them in the Style Manager, hit the Style Editor button, but the message at the bottom of the Zotero Style Editor says "No items selected in Zotero." Please help. Computer is MacBook Air with MacOS Catalina 10.15.7 and using Firefox.

That's a dependent style — it's just a pointer to BMJ, so there's nothing to edit. You'd have to edit BMJ if you you want to edit that.

the message at the bottom of the Zotero Style Editor says "No items selected in Zotero."

That message means what it says. If you want to see a preview of what you're editing, you'd have to select some items.

I remain confused about how to edit or rename the "Acupuncture in Medicine" style, which I imported into my Style Manager. Could you provide step-by-step instructions?

As I say, you'd have to install the BMJ style and edit a copy of that.
