Sync broken after update - Error ID: 888984996

Hi, after the update on 2.0b7.4, my library cannot be synchronized anymore.
Is there any workaround?

Thanks,
Tobi
  • Could you generate debug output for the sync attempt from the Advanced pane of the Zotero prefs, submit it to the server, and post the Debug ID here? Thanks.
  • Hi,
    The Debug ID is D2036528489.
The time until the error appears differs, but the last lines are always similar.
I can also do some more tests if you tell me what information you need.
    Thanks,
    Tobi
  • Sorry, I forgot to paste the error message in my discussion opening.
    Here it is:

[Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [mozIStorageStatement.execute]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/db.js :: anonymous :: line 136" data: no] [QUERY: REPLACE INTO itemNotes (itemID, sourceItemID, note, title) VALUES (?,?,?,?)] [ERROR: constraint failed]
  • This error appears since the latest upgrade on my Windows machine. Ubuntu runs great.

OK, this should be fixed in the latest dev build. If you'd like to test it, you can temporarily install the trunk XPI over 2.0b7.4 and try to sync. Using a trunk build isn't generally recommend for non-developers, but it should be safe to try the current build, r5321. (Obviously you should make sure you have a backup anyway before trying.)

After verifying that it fixes the problem, you can and should switch back to 2.0b7.4. After the sync goes through, it's unlikely you'll see this again even after switching back to 2.0b7.4.
  • Thank you very much!
  • I tried it today - everything seems to work great - thank you!
  • OK, thanks. We'll get 2.0b7.5 out soon with this fix.
