Pdf storage previous versions

This is more of a preemptive concern. I have an enormous amount of data stored in bookmarks and comments (stickies) in certain pdf files (especially in the form of cross-references). Is there ever a chance that these will be lost, and if so, is there a way to restore previous versions of pdf files via Zotero storage?
