Style Error: American Society for Microbiology

Hello,

The citation style for American Society for Microbiology is not correct for the types "Thesis" and "Software". For the type "Thesis" the delimiter between "Type" and "University" should be ".", but the style retrieves ",". For the type "Software", the Prog. Language should not appear in the reference, while the URL and retrieval date should be included.

Here are the examples/templates provided on the ASM references recommendations (https://journals.asm.org/references):

O’Malley DR. 1998. PhD thesis. University of California, Los Angeles, CA. {Title is optional.}

Author. Year. Description or title of software (version). Repository URL. Retrieved day month year. {Software or code.}

Can someone help me to make the necessary changes to the style?

Thanks for reporting the errors.

I've submitted a PR. This fixes issue #1, but still looking at #2. Bit more complicated as the item type of Software is the same type as a book in CSL.

Thanks a lot for your help! It's almost perfect for what I need right now. Just three small issues remaining: the retrieval date should be in the day month year format ("Retrieved 16 March 2017") , the Prog. language should be omitted, and the URL should be preceded by the publisher (Library Catalog) according to the ASM rules.

Ok, that's a good workaround. When I import the reference of the code I need to cite directly from github, the publisher (github, in this case) goes automatically to the "Library catalog" field, but I can manually change it to "Company" and that will work just fine. Thank you!
