PNAS Style References

I have a question regarding the PNAS reference style. While the actual references at the end of the text are written according to the Journal's style:

1. R. Hisakata, S. Nishida, A. Johnston, An adaptable metric shapes perceptual space. Curr. Biol. 26, 1911–1915 (2016).

My problem is that I do not know how to cite the numbers of the references within the text: when multiple articles are cited at the same spot, PNAS style is the following: (1-5) or (5-7). My only way to cite multiple papers at the same spot when I enter the references is to import them one-by-one which results in the following style: (1), (2), (3), (4) etc..How can I convert the (1), (2), (3), (4) into (1-4)??

Thank you very much!
