Error on sync to zotero web library via researcher!

I use the android app researcher to find references and to sync them to zotero. I can successfully login to the zotero account, but once I click on the web library item, an error occurs. Furthermore, I tried to use the old web library, it didn't work. The message is 'Unable to sync zotero', and below is the detail:

Does the web library work on the same device when you use a web browser like Chrome?
  • Yes! I use firefox, and the web library works normally.
  • From what I can tell "Researcher" app syncs "bookmarks" that you create in that app with Zotero in the background. I.e. once you bookmark something in the app, it should just appear in Zotero (and web library in Firefox) shortly after. I don't see at which point web library is opened in "Researcher" app?

I suspect the error you see is due to limited capabilities of a browser offered by "Researcher" app but I'd like to confirm that so we can either fix it or add a warning.
  • Thank you for your quick reply.

I checked the marked references in researcher, and they could be found in zotero. It indicates that the sync works.

I think your guess is right, the error occurred when I tried to open the library with the built-in browser of researcher.

What I can confirm is that the sync works well, thank you very much!
  • I'm glad sync works for you. We've released a new version that should hopefully work in the embedded web view in "Researcher" app . However to ensure complete functionality, I'd recommend using web library in a web browser (or even better use Zotero desktop app if possible).
  • Ok, thank you for your prompt response!
