which category does "document" map to?

So, I need some kind of default category that stuff doesn't seem to fit into, like reports published by companies that only exist on the web. So I figure "document" is a good choice, and I can set up a conditional in the CSL. One problem, there is no "document" in the list of types in the CSL source code (http://xbiblio.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/xbiblio/csl/schema/tags/0.8/csl.rnc?view=markup, see lines 834-867).

What would be extremely handy would be some listing of Zotero types, and the corresponding type in the CSL. Does this exist, and what does "document" map to? I tried "entry" (figuring that it was fairly generic) but that doesn't seem to work.

Using Zotero 1.0.10, if I need to upgrade as well that would be good to know.

Document is meant to be a strong, generic type & there is no mapping. Try to make your CSL rely on types as little as is possible.
  • Thank you for the link. I would think this information should be on the main webpage for developing CSL, with of course a very strong warning to use types as little as possible.

I am trying to make my CSL rely on types as much as possible, but there are some times that I have more information in the record than is called for in the citation, and other reference types when I will want that specific information. I would rather use a conditional rather than deleting the information from the Zotero record.
  • note that the documentation is a wiki: you can contribute.
For reports I'd btw. suggest to use "Report", which is mapped to "report" I believe.
