shortcut for advanced search

Would it be possible to add a shortcut for advanced search? When I show Zotero I often get requests for this. Currently there are two shortcuts for QuickSearch but none for Advanced Search.

Alternatively, a preference to switch the "Find" shortcut between QuickSearch and Advanced Search would be great.

Thanks!
  • I've added Cmd-Shift-F for the next beta.
  • Great, thank you!
  • Sorry, I still can't find the shortcut for "advanced search".
  • @donliu Are you using Zotero 7 beta? (Aside note: Cmd/Ctrl-Shift-F is not documented as shortcut in the Edit menu.)
  • Thanks for reply. Yes, I'm using Zotero 7 beta. Besides Edit menu, I can't set the shortcut for advanced search in Setting either?

It seems that this shortcut is no configurable, right. You probably have to stick with the default combination of keys. Or ask for this to be configurable in the Settings
  • But there is no default combination of keys for advanced search right now, I think it's better to add one.
  • Cmd-Shift-F (or Ctrl-Shift-F) as said above. It doesn't work for you?

Thank you! It works now, it may have conflicted with other shortcut keys just now.
  • Just a request to focus the "entry" field when bringing up the advanced search.

Such that I can run Cmd-Shift-F (or Ctrl-Shift-F), and then paste or start typing my search immediately.

Lastly, is there a way to set the default advanced search config (e.g., show only top-level items checked)?
  • @zthosman: You can just press Tab twice. The condition menu is focused because there's no guarantee that someone is searching by Title.
