set the default PDF to open when clicking on a parent item

when i add supp info files to a parent item, the default file that opens when i click on a parent item changes to the new supp info file. this is of course annoying and time wasting.

would you please make it possible for us to manually set the default file that opens? (and also not cause Zotero to change the default when files are added to a parent item?)

While a way to pick the primary file is a fairly common request, note that this isn't true. It defaults to the oldest PDF.

This is the order:

- oldest PDF attachment matching parent URL
- oldest non-PDF attachment matching parent URL
- oldest PDF attachment not matching URL
- old non-PDF attachment not matching URL

the oldest PDF is not necessarily the one that we want as the primary PDF. I regularly have this problem, and we need a way to fix it by being able to pick the primary file

I understand that — I'm just pointing out that your description of the behavior was incorrect. It doesn't start opening a newer file just because you add one.
