APA 7 in-text citations seem broken
Is anyone having problems with APA 7 in-text citations? When citing a journal article the following rules apply:
Only use last names (never use initials)
If there's just two authors on a paper then the citation looks like (author1 & author2, year)
If there's multiple authors then: (leadAuthor et al., year).
if there's multiple citations for the same line then the same format applies, but each citation gets separated with a semicolon.
That's it, pretty simple and straightforward. Is Zotero doing that? NOPE. It was yesterday. I haven't changed anything and suddenly it's bonkers. It seems to be randomly using initials in some names. If I cite multiple sources it includes ALL the authors from each paper. It's driving me nuts. I'm running Word 16.54 for Mac and Zotero 5.0.96.3. I've restarted both of them and it makes no difference. I've double-checked the format preferences, toggled it to a different format, and then back to apa 7. No difference.
ETA: If I go directly into Zotero, open the preferences, then look at the style editor (with an article selected in the main window) it correctly renders the in-text citation. If I go into Word, click on my Zotero tab, click add citation, click show editor, and then click an article... the citation is incorrectly rendered (with the first initial of the first name). So something appears to be breaking in Word.
