zotero references - google docs

Hello Zotero Community,

I have some trouble uploading a word document docx containing Zotero references on Google Docs. They disappear in the uploading process.

However, the other way around, i.e. Zotero references in a google doc which is then downloaded into a document word docx works with the referencing.

I have tried changing the format (docm) but google doc doesn't read it so it is automatically transferred into a docx without the referencing.

Can anyone help me on that one (from docx with zotero referencing on to Google Docs while keeping the refs)?

You can't simply open a Word file in Google Docs and vice a versa without losing citations. Did you follow the instructions here?

You may also want to read https://www.zotero.org/support/google_docs before working in Google Docs to prevent unwanted unlinking of citations, especially if you are collaborating with others on Google Docs (in short, all users need to have the Zotero Connector installed).
