Copying an item from a group to my library does not bring pdf files

Hello,

I am member of several groups which I do not own. Sometimes, I would like to copy a couple of article references which includes the pdf files to my local library. I just drag and drop file to one of my local connection. I receive the reference but I do not get the pdf file.

I am not in a zotero plan currently. I am on free tier. I have more than 300gb references in my library. I do not know if the reason is this, but group space, to the best of knowledge, eats from the owner's account and I should be able to copy a file from it to my zotero in my local machine which must be not space bounded. I is not sink operation. I is just a copying a file from a remote space.

Any help much appreciated.

1) If you're using download-as-needed mode for the group library, the file needs to exist locally before you drag. Zotero won't currently download it for you when you drag.

2) If you've previously dragged the item to your personal library without the file, or you're the one who originally dragged the item to the group library without the file, you'll need to delete the copy of the item in your personal library before dragging again from the group.

Hello, Thank you for the response, and I am sorry to respond late. I have noticed one thing and would like to report here for the further documentation purposes for the future references. Item should be deleted totally including from the trash as well. If the item is still in the trash, copying from the group does bring pdf, but pdf can not be opened. The displayed error message is somewhat misleading. In my humble opinion, the error message displayed should differentiate the situations as you described.
