Is there a way to get rid of parentheses around an in-text citation?

For an individual citation? No. For what purpose?

I have an in-text citation like this: (e.g., (AAAA, 1996; BBBB et al., 2001; U.S. CCCCC, 2006)). I'd like to get rid of the opening parenthesis before AAAA and the closing parenthesis after 2006.

Jus put the "e.g " in a prefix for the AAAA citation
