Install Zotero Beta on Ubuntu 20.04

Hi, I'm trying to install Zotero Beta (with the internal PDF reader option) on my Ubuntu machine, but thus far without success. I downloaded the build (https://www.zotero.org/support/dev_builds) and followed the installation instructions for Linux here: https://www.zotero.org/support/installation. However, plugging the line "ls -s zotero.desktop ~/.local/share/applications/zotero.desktop" into the terminal doesn't do anything.
Any suggestions of what I'm doing wrong or of alternative approaches will be appreciated!

If you're having trouble with the manual instructions you should just use the zotero-deb package linked from there.
