Advice about OpenOffice plugin toolbar

It took me a while to work out how to get a period (fullstop) to display after each number in my footnotes when using Chicago Note/full note with bibliography style.

i.e "1 Harry Wray, Japanese and American Education: Attitudes and Practices (Westport, CT: Bergin & Garvey, 1999), 44." was showing instead of "1. Harry Wray, Japanese and American Education: Attitudes and Practices (Westport, CT: Bergin & Garvey, 1999), 44."

In OpenOffice Zotero leaves the footnoting up to the word processor. Unfortunately in OpenOffice, the settings for footnotes are not that easy to fine, although easy to change when you know how:

Go to Tools->Footnotes... Then you'll see a "Before" and "After" text box. Type a period in the "after" text box. (You could type a closing bracket or whatever you wanted after each number.)

I am writing this note in part to help people googling with my problem, but also I think a button on the Zotero toolbar that takes the user to the Footnote/Endnote settings in OpenOffice would be very handy.

I don't really think "Tools" is the appropriate place for this, although that's a problem with OOo not Zotero.

Thanks for listening!
