Cannot get meta data or software update

I installed zotero behind a coporate proxy. I cannot retrieve any meta data for my files, nor can I update it using Help -> Software Update.

When updating the software I only get:
Update XML file malformed (200)

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

    Zotero can connect through a proxy server, but they're seemingly doing something unusual here on the intercepted connections, so you'd have to ask your IT department.

    If you can provide debug output (via email) for an attempt to check for updates, we might be able to tell you what exactly the proxy server is returning.
