MLA 9: remove http:// from URL field in bibliographies?
MLA 9 link formatting is odd. If you give a DOI, they would like you to prepend https://doi.org/ if it's not there already. But if you give a URL, they would like you to delete http(s):// as unneeded clutter.
I have been deleting the protocol from the URL fields of my entries, but that is slow and error-prone. Is it possible to edit the CSL or some other Zotero source code file to remove the protocol from a URL field when it is pulled into a bibliography?
I don't mind trying to work on this myself, I just don't know how/where to start, if it's possible.
Thank you! Zotero is the greatest.
