HTML formatting or other to be Zotero readable. Any Ruby/Rails gems?

We're building web app for researchers, and it's likely they'll want to save items to remember. The functional spec says some nonsense about creating a folder within the app, but Zotero guidance seems like a better solution.

I've poked around a bit looking for guides for how to make pages Zotero-friendly, but getting lost in the woods.

So, anyone have a favorite guide to that? If there's a Ruby gem or somesuch thing, that'd make many people happy.
