takes longer time to link a file attachment

i put all of my ebooks in a external harddisk. when an item in zotero links to that file, it takes longer time to find the file. is it normal?

    Not sure what you mean there. What exactly is taking a long time?

    already resolved. the problem is with the scite plug-in. after uninstalling it, Zotero runs smoothly again. thanks for your response.
