Springerlink - RIS link is not imported automatically
Hi there,
I've had a problem with Zotero ever since I installed it around 7 or 8 months ago. Whenever I go to a Springerlink article that I'm interested in and click the "Export this chapter as RIS" link on the right hand side I'm always presented with a dialog box to save/open the result.
Normally I access through a proxy and so I tried it when I'm not logged in to that but the same thing happens.
An example is here:
http://www.springerlink.com/content/qk16015496t45582/?p=6a5d0f920e8f4ae3bd2a195541ba5aad&pi=1
I've followed the steps to troubleshoot but I can't seem to get it to work.
FYI, I'm using Firefox 3.5.3 alongside Zotero 2.0b7.2. with cookie acceptance enabled.
I do have the NoScript extension installed (v1.9.9.01) but apparently, according to the troubleshooting guide the issues have now been fixed.
All other portals seem to work fine e.g. ACM, IEEE etc.
Can anyone help? Am I missing something really obvious?
Cheers,
James

Springer supplies the RIS with the wrong MIME type - i.e. as plain text rather than as RIS.
Zotero checks for that and not for the file ending to determine the file type.
Not much you can do - but you can open the RIS and then should be able to import it using the Zotero icon in th URL bar.
