Zotero database backup: WebDAV vs incremental backup?
Hi, I want to make sure my library doesn't disappear when my computer dies, so I'm looking into my options not to lose years of work when (not if) anything happen.
At home, I have a Synology NAS. I have configured it so that it makes backup of my Documents folder regularly. It's a backup not a sync, data only go one way.
I've read about DropBox and sqlite database corruption, but I believe it's only due to the sync behaviour of the various Cloud software? Or would my backups be silently corrupted without me knowing until I tried to copy the file back to a computer?
I'm looking into WebDAV now. Though I'm unsure how it works. If I use this storage mode, will I be able to access the PDF files while offline? The obvious advantage would be to be able to work from several computers, though I only have one, and the offline availability is important to me. If I set up WebDAV and connect with a new computer, because the old had an accident, will it download everything to work offline?
And, one last thing. Can I move back from WebDAV to local storage easily?
