Getting a run-time error 453: can't find DLL entry point findwindowA in user32 please help

    Reinstall Zotero from the download page.

    I did and did not work. What else can I do to fix this error?

    Uninstall Zotero and make sure the Zotero folder is gone from “Program Files (x86)” (not your home folder!), and then reinstall.

    If that doesn’t help, check your system for malware and/or reinstall Windows. It’s not a problem in Zotero itself.

    Wait, are you getting this in Zotero or in Word? If the latter, be sure to say that when posting here so that we can properly help you. What exact Word version?

    @ain20a: In the past, this has been caused by Cylance security software. If that's in use on your system, you'll need to disable it or speak to your IT department.

    I apologize. This is happening in word when I am trying to add a citation and it pops up as that error.
