Database upgrade error

Hi,

Suddenly Zotero just disappeared from my Firefox (also from the add-ons list). I reinstalled it, and now I'm getting "Database upgrade error" when clicking on the Zotero button the bottom of my Firefox window.

I hope I didn't lose my article database with this...

Any ideas?

Ville

edit: I upgraded from Firefox 3.0 to 3.5 but the problem didn't go away.

    Hello experts,

same problem on my machine with FF3.5.3 after upgrading from 2.0b7.1 to 2.0b7.2.
However, database integrity is reported to be ok.

One small step version number but one great leap in data loss ...?

[Update: I got the old version from
    http://www.zotero.org/download/zotero-2.0b7.1.xpi
After installation, everything is back to normal.
2.0b.7.2 is probably not fit for being released.]

    Thanks,

    Zottl

I tried also your suggestion to downgrade to 2.0b7.1, but it won't install. Shiretoko (name of Firefox 3.5 for Ubuntu apparently?) add-on manager says "This add-on will be installed when Shiretoko is restarted", but it won't change if I restart.

    EDIT: PROBLEM FIXED
I am using zotero under ubuntu, but my zotero storage directory was residing on a windows partition (dual boot). For some reason the directory got corrupted. Thanks to zotero sync feature I still have my full library!
  • zottl: Please don't make serious, overblown claims ("data loss", "not fit for being released") you have no evidence for. Most 2.0 users are using 2.0b7.2, and there's absolutely nothing to indicate that you experienced data loss. If you have a problem, just report it and we'll do our best to help.

If you get "Database upgrade error" after an upgrade, follow the steps in the Advanced Instructions section of the Reporting Bugs page and let us know what appears in the Error Console.
