PDFs - no author field. Metadata upload - right click doesn't work

I have a number of PDF's without Authors/dates, but no option to fill in those fields.

Instructions say to right click 'upload metadata'. This isn't an option when right clicking.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

    The options should be right-click --> Retrieve metadata and you should definitely have that. If that doesn't work, use right-click --> Create parent item.

    If you have neither of these options, make sure you're using the Zotero Desktop software, not the web application where this isn't possible
