How to view author name for numbered in-text citation style

When using a numbered in-text citation style, is there a way to view the author names and year directly from the text, like a pop-up upon hovering mouse pointer or right-clicking the in-text citation field? I'm finding it tedious to scroll back and forth from my references page. Any tips or tricks for this are welcome!

    You could just use an author-date style while writing and then switch to a numeric one when you're ready to submit, no?

    That is what what of my colleagues who write in numeric styles do. American Psychological Association is a good style for that.
