Adding Citations to Word Doc takes 3 minutes each!

I would really like someone's help in finding out why my Zotero is taking around 3 minutes each time I want to add one citation into the document! I have the latest version of Zotero so no upgrade is needed? I'm working on a document on one-drive and quite a large one at that because its for work, but I have no option to do the work on my desktop. Please let me know if there's a solution, thank you!
