Chicago author-date style for endnotes: generating final version of file

I've just completed a book manuscript with endnotes (at the end of a long Word file) using the Chicago author-date style. The publisher's guidelines call for a basic citation to have author and date without parentheses -- Smith 1999, 33–34 -- yet in my endnotes the citations entered with Zotero have parentheses -- (Smith 1999, 33–34). How can I remove these and put my notes into final shape? Many thanks in advance.
