FYI to tech support: "Extraction Failed: File is Corrupt"

Just an FYI to tech support:

When I tried to download Zotero on Windows 10 I kept getting a message that Windows Defender Smartscreen had blocked the file. When I did an override of this message and tried to install Zotero, I would get the message "Extraction Failed: File is Corrupt."

I have Windows Defender and an extra antiviral software that runs on my computer. I can effectively shut off my extra antivirus (which incidentally did not find anything suspicious about the file to begin with), but not matter how hard I tried I could not shut off Windows Defender. Even when WD said it was off it still blocked my download and there was nothing I could do to override it. It was like my computer was the freaking pentagon.

My only way around this was to put the Zotero setup on a thumb drive from another computer that doesn't have Windows Defender.

Just thought I would let you know. Maybe your software has a virus/malware hack or maybe WD thinks it's the pentagon.

Thanks, but this isn't a problem with the download. It sounds like this is a problem with your AV setup. (If this were a general problem, there'd be dozens of reports about this a day.)
