Group Libraries

New to Zotero, I have already set up files on my desk top Zotero. I have been asked to join a group library to share my files. I have accepted, however on the web library I don't see any of my files but I do see Group Libraries, on my desktop I see all my files but I don't see any Group Libraries folder.

Not sure what I need to do next to make it so that I can share my folders into the group.
  • Make sure you've set up syncing in your Zotero application, and that you're using the same account in both places.

  • By default Zotero will only store your data locally, to see it in web library you need to setup sync.

    Also, once you setup sync, you should see group libraries you've joined in your desktop app. You can then also choose which group libraries should be synced to your local computer (preferences -> sync -> choose libraries).
  • Ok, all this information is great. However, I have followed the sync and was able to sync 2 computers with my user name, I don't show any group libraries. When I link on the web zotero I see blank folders of my library and group folder shows up. I just don't know what I am doing wrong.

  • Can you provide a Debug ID for a sync?
  • The issue with Debug is that is asks for me to try to sync and the problem is I can sync because on the web version it doesn't so any of my folders and on my desk top version it doesn't show me the group folder.
  • I'm just asking for a Debug ID for clicking the sync button once. We can't help you further until you provide that.
