MLZ Translator Request: Kenya Law Reports
Hello, I'm hoping someone would be able to help create a translator for case law on
http://kenyalaw.org/caselaw/.
When you search a case, the site provides metadata as well as a link to the xml. As an example, here's a link to the case, Mercy Nyawade v Banking Fraud Investigations Department & 2 Others High Court Petition 143 of 2017, [2017] eKLR
http://kenyalaw.org/caselaw/cases/view/139083
the html for this case is at:
view-source:http://kenyalaw.org/caselaw/cases/view/139083
and the xml is at:
http://kenyalaw.org/caselaw/cases/export/139083/xml
I have tried to link the Juris-M Label with the xml content, but I really don't know what I'm doing. Here's what I've got for
Case Name=neutralCitation
Author=judge (although this one isn't quite clear to me. It could also be 'author', 'editor' or 'Co-Editor')
Abstract=introduction
Jurisdiction=Kenya|KE (this isn't in the xml, but would be the default for cases from Kenya Law)
Court=docProponent
Division=courtType
Docket Number=docketNumber
Document Number=docNumber
Year As Vol.=[It is always the year of the Date Decided field, but it is not specifically set out other than in Monty-Day-Year format]
Reporter=[this would default to eKLR]
Date Decided=docDate (or maybe judgmentDate)
Publisher=[this would default to 'National Council for Law Reporting (Kenya Law)')
I have no idea if that will be useful, but I'd be grateful for any help I can get.
