Changing item type does not change @type in .bib file for use in Latex

Hi, I am using Zotero in combination with Latex (biblatex, backend=biber). I have successfully split my bibliography in two parts in my Latex document, one for all sorts of sources, one for only newspaper articles. The problem is that the .bib file generated by Zotero (export option biblatex) does not translate the item=Newspaper Article information into the syntax @newspaper{} in the .bib file. I would like to make this happen in order to generate the split bibliography in Latex mentioned above (I manually changes one entry to @newspaper in the .bib file and it worked as desired). Please help!
  • I'm not sure why you're expecting that — @newspaper isn't a BibTeX type. @article is the correct type for newspaper articles.

(Note that, if you're using a BibTeX-based workflow, you want to be using the Better BibTeX plugin, but that wouldn't make a difference here.)

It can be done with a BBT postscript, but I wouldn't change the current behavior to output a newspaper type, correct.
