MS Word Plug-in ver. 3.0.a1 does not function

  • Per your suggestion of 6 March, I uninstalled and reinstalled the Zotero WinWord extension, using the instructions at http://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_installation. Following the reinstall, I still received an error message each time a clicked on a Zotero button in MSWord. The message is the same one I received before reinstalling the Zotero WinWord extension, as follows: "Microsoft Virtual Basic. Run-time error '5': Invalid procedure call or argument." I appears that the reinstallation did not rectify the problem.
  • I'm not sure if this will help, but yo may find it interesting. Out of curiosity, I opened the Zotero.dot file in my Word/STARTUP directory. When I did so, I received the standard error message "Microsoft Virtual Basic. Run-time error '5': Invalid procedure call or argument." However, this time the error message included an active Debug button, which I clicked. A window came up entitled Zotero Code (General), with the following line highlighted (presumably because there's an error there): Call Shell("""C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"" " & args$, vbNormalFocus)

I can send you the entire string of code, if that would be helpful. It's a bit long to paste into a forum message. Of note, Zotero did not generate an error report for the above operation.
